EMDR Music for the Heart
EMDR is the acronym for “Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.” It’s a method of trauma therapy used by health care professionals that mimics REM (rapid eye movement) sleep patterns. Because it’s been so successful, many mental health professionals are beginning to utilize the EMDR techniques, which often involve the use of “bilateral music” where it pans gently from left to right.
Del Hungerford has created instrumental music in the bilateral style from several of her albums. The music included in "EMDR Music for the Heart" is:
-
from the album "I AM"
- from the album "I AM"
- from the album "Open Heaven"
“EMDR Music for the Heart” targets the heart (both emotional and physical). Imagine a healthy beating heart that’s in perfect rhythm. In times of high emotional stress, see the heart at rest. Focus the intent on releasing a steady beat into the heart while rejecting negative emotions and situations. While settling into peace and quietude, visualize the heart functioning in a normal capacity.
