EMDR Music for the Body
EMDR is the acronym for “Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.” It’s a method of trauma therapy used by health care professionals that mimics REM (rapid eye movement) sleep patterns. Because it’s been so successful, many mental health professionals are beginning to utilize the EMDR techniques, which often involve the use of “bilateral music” where it pans gently from left to right.
Del Hungerford has created instrumental music in the bilateral style from several of her albums. The music included in "EMDR Music for the Body" is:
-
from the album "I AM"
- from the album "Waves of Spirit"
- from the album "528 Creative DNA"
“EMDR Music for the Body” focuses on bringing a sense of peace over the physical body so that as you concentrate on releasing pain and discomfort, the body has the opportunity to heal. Visualize the areas of pain being replaced by healthy cells, muscles, tendons, organs, or whatever part is in “dis” ease, or not at ease. Allow intent of walking in complete health to infuse the body while listening to the sounds in the music as it pans gently back and forth.
